Whether you’re looking for some new options for your child’s toy rotation or an easy gift, these picks haven’t failed us yet. These are some of Aveline’s absolute favorites and at less than $10 each, you really can’t go wrong!
Clockwise from left: Fisher Price Rock-a-Stack: An oldie but goodie, there’s a reason this toy has stood the test of time. It seems so simple, but along with providing hours of entertainment, these stackable rings will also help your babe develop fine motor skills. Aveline loves banging these together and rolling and chasing after them. For another spin on this classic, check out this version here.
Wacky Teething Ring: I keep joking that my sister-in-law is a baby toy whisperer because every toy she has gotten Aveline, has been an instant and long lasting favorite. Case in point this wacky teether. Aveline has been obsessed with this since the moment we handed it to her when she was only 4 months old. She loves sucking on the fabric bit and rarely drops this one.
Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes: This toy is a lifesaver for the car! If you don’t currently own one, order this immediately. I’m not kidding. Anytime Aveline gets the tiniest bit fussy in the car, we hand this to her and it calms her down instantly. She loves chewing on the handle, shuffling through the songs, and humming along.
Banana Teether: This has been the best teething toy that we own. It’s easy for her to hold and the perfect shape/size for her to manipulate to get on the right spots of her gums. She’s had this since she was 4 months old, and I keep it in our diaper bag since I know it will entertain her if we’re out and about.
Rattle & Shake Barbell: Aveline loves any sort of rattle but this barbell is one of her absolute favorites. A few other options she loves can be found here, here, and here.
Stack Up Cups: These are a win-win on so many levels. Not only are they only $3.99 on Amazon, but Aveline could play with these for hours. She likes to bang them together, stack them, and bring them in the bathtub!
Sensory Teething Toy: My sister-in-law has a box of toys at their house that my niece hand picked, just for Aveline to play with when we’re there. Out of all the toys, this was the first that Aveline naturally gravitated towards. She loved it so much, that my mom ended up getting her this version here. Both are so easy to hold, throw around and chew.
MAM Cooler Teether: This was the first teether I bought Aveline when she was only 3 months old. It definitely was a bit big for her at the time, but as she’s gotten bigger, she plays and chews on it a lot more now. My dad actually had the idea to wrap a pacifier clip around it so that we could clip it to her carseat strap. Other than her Einstein toy mentioned above, this is the only other thing she loves to play with in the car. It’s actually a battle royale some mornings to get this from her, so she can go into school.
Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Remote: While we don’t allow Aveline to watch tv or interact with technology of any kind (laptops/ iPads, etc) we do have the occasional Facetime call with family or friends. Part of the reason we don’t allow her access to these items (which could be a whole other blog post) is because it’s literally like crack and she becomes obsessed. My dad noticed this early on and got her this remote to help deter her attention and it definitely works! Anytime she gets locked onto my phone, I hand her this instead and boom, instant distraction. My dad got her the blue version, but they also make a pink one found here.
Ice Gel Teether Key: This was another winner from my sister-in-law. When Aveline was at the height of getting her first two teeth, I would put these in the refrigerator and she would gnaw on them for hours. She still loves to bang them around and I have found that they make such a fun and easy gift!
