What better way to show your pup just how much you love them, then with these 3 ingredient dog treats?!
These are incredibly easy to make and your furry friend will be sure to eat them up! I love to add these to Summit’s meals, but he’ll never say no to a one-off.
While yogurt can be great for dogs, there are a few things to be cognizant of when choosing the type and brand of yogurt you use.
Keep it Plain
As with any foods you feed your pet, be sure to check the ingredient labels! Flavored yogurts may contain high amounts of sugar or the sweetener, xylitol, which is toxic to dogs. Play it safe and keep it plain. You can always add whole, natural fruits yourself, as I’ve done here.
Go Greek
Just like humans, pups can also show signs of lactose intolerance. Due to this, it’s recommended to stick with Greek yogurt as it has a lower amount of lactose, making it easier for dogs to digest. Greek yogurt also offers up a number of probiotics, which will help regulate your little bud’s gut.
Non or Low-Fat
To avoid overfeeding your pet or promoting weight gain, stick with non or low-fat yogurt options. I promise they won’t notice the difference and it’s healthier for them in the long run!
I personally, love to use Fage 0% Greek yogurt, but Chobani Non or Low-Fat Greek Yogurt would work too! Summit has never had an adverse reaction to either of these and would honestly lick the cups clean if I let him.
As always, be sure to consult with your vet to ensure the best for your pet.
